Job Description

·         Analyzes and assesses technical (re) insurability regarding exposures

and coverages on new and renewal submissions

·         Prepares quotations, structures programs, and offers proposals in

accordance with guidelines.

·         Uses SR tools and systems for the development of terms and

conditions.

·         Enters and maintains risk information into the various information

systems and administers the accounts.

·         Discusses and negotiates with clients and brokers.

·         Establishes and maintains specific industry sector know-how.

·         Contributes to project work and accepts special assignments.

·         Coaching of less experienced underwriters.

      Representation activities:

·         Represents SR in meetings with clients, brokers, and other SR Group

entities; Interaction with other parties: (internal/external contacts).

·         Regular contact with brokers and clients which require competent

technical know-how, negotiation and language skills, initiative and

service orientation.

·         Works effectively within client teams' irregular workload, sometimes

hectic and with very short response times.

·         Willingness to expend extra efforts to cover peak workloads.

Requirements

High level of Quotashare, Lead Excess Liability Underwriting

experience in the Large / Mid-size account space (2-3 years minimum)

·         Reinsurance, wholesale and retail broker network established

·         Knowledge and proficiency in the use of underwriting tools,

applications, and guidelines

·         Spanish and English language proficiency. Portuguese is a plus.

·         Keeps abreast of market environment and trends

·         Solid negotiating skills

·         Ability to work in a team environment

·         Occasional travel activities

Job Description

We are the leading player in Marine Reinsurance. We are looking for a marine underwriter to underwrite a portfolio of facultative and treaty marine business in selected markets to be based in Zurich. You will be joining an interesting and international team, covering markets across the Continental European region with a wide range of activities involving risks and portfolio analysis, steering as well as rating and signing treaty and facultative business. You will market and promote our company vis-à-vis clients, brokers and associations with the aim of developing personal relationships and will be expected to possess and apply your knowledge to provide clients with solutions which meet their needs. In addition you will occasionally share and present your expertise to colleagues and clients at seminars and workshops. Conducting sector specific market analysis of portfolio and claim patterns will fall within your remit, as will a certain amount of planning and controlling. This vacancy is adjustable and expandable, depending on the applicant.

 

Requirements

-          At least 5 years experience in marine underwriting. Additional

experience in other lines of business is a plus

-          Mother tongue German and fluent in English both oral and written.

Other languages would also be of benefit.

-          Good interpersonal skills, team player, sensitive to cultural

differences

-          Client oriented, excellent negotiating skills and perseverance

Job Description
We are looking for a pro-active, highly motivated and result oriented Senior Underwriter to join the Professional & Financial Services team within Corporate Solutions.

This is an underwriting position for someone with broad experience and well established broker connections in the US public company D&O market. The core focus is on contributing to the result-oriented underwriting of Directors and Officers Liability transactions as a (primary and excess) direct insurer and to substantially grow the US public company D&O book of business.

Your main tasks will be generating new business opportunities by leveraging your existing broker contacts, analysing and assessing the technical insurability in respect of exposures and coverages, reviewing cover structures, wordings and proposals and preparing quotations. You will be expected to develop a thorough understanding of the clients requirements and expectations and to lead discussions and negotiations with Brokers, existing and new Clients. Your broad know how of the market allows you to attract new opportunities and select the risks carefully and efficiently. Furthermore, you will contribute to project work, work in international deal teams and accept special
assignments as required.
